GENERAL TERMS
All tours, activities, kayaking, camping nights, transfers and extensions will hereafter be referred to as tours.
All bookings are made with Stockholms Kajakled AB, the company that operates The Kayak Trail and owns the Stockholm Kayak Trail® trademark. We are a tour operator based in Stockholm, Sweden. Stockholms Kajakled AB and The Kayak Trail will hereafter be referred to as we.
All the information provided on the website is, to the best of our knowledge, correct at the time of publication. We will advise you of any changes that are fundamental to the contract or which we believe will substantially affect the enjoyment of the tour.
BOOKINGS & PAYMENT
For multi-day tours we ask for an initial payment of 20 percent of the total value at the time of booking in order to confirm your reservation. You will then be asked to pay the remaining amount at the latest 14 days prior to arrival of the tour.
If we have not received the total amount within the payment period the booking will be canceled and any previous payment(s) made will be forfeited.
CANCELLATIONS
If you must cancel your tour, just send us an email and we will help you out.
If you cancel a tour 30 days or more before the start date you will receive a 100% refund. If you cancel a tour 29 days – 14 days before the start date you will receive a refund of 80 % but will pay 20 % (your initial payment). If you cancel your trip less than 14 days before the start of the tour you will not receive a refund, but we recommend you to contact your travel insurance company to see if you can get compensation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Nature can surprise you. Although we try to recommend certain periods as “Best time to go” we cannot guarantee that you will see or experience what you have come for, for example certain sea birds or seals.
Our guides do their best in leading you to make the most of the experience and/or recommending the most favorable route for you (if on a self-guided tour), but to some extent, our success rate depends on Nature. We therefore ask you to make allowances for any changes from the tour itinerary. If we are unable to offer a certain service due to unforeseen factors, you will be offered a similar service.
Outdoor activities are also weather dependent. If we are forced to cancel an activity due to extreme weather conditions, an alternative activity suitable for the current conditions will be provided to the best of our ability. Please note that changes may occur at a short notice, even on the same day.

YOUR OBLIGATIONS AS A GUEST
We expect you to show the same respect to nature as we do. Nature is our host and it is nature that offers these beautiful kayak experiences.
Follow any rules and instructions that apply to the use of accommodation, transfer, activity, etc. You are liable for all damage that is the result of you or your company’s careless behavior to The Kayak Trail’s property or damage done to nature, the natural reserves we visit and so on.
Remember that the contact details you provide us with when making a booking are our only way of contacting you. Make sure they are correct.
Please read your booking confirmation carefully and check that all dates/times and products/services are booked according to your requirements. If not, please contact us to correct any misunderstandings immediately.
When making your reservation, be careful to write any food allergies, dietary restrictions or medical conditions that might be important for the guide to know.
ABOUT THE RISKS
Participation in any of our tours is associated with risks. You participate on all our tours at your own risk (also the guided tours). We require everyone participating in our activities to be able to swim 200 meters unaided in open water.
We expect our guests to be sober during our activities. The occasional beer or glass of wine in the evening is of course no problem, but on the water, our guides will reject participants who are clearly under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The risks while kayaking and being on, or close to, the water are drastically increased if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Remember that all our tours include kayaking and being on the water in general is not a good idea if you have serious illnesses, disabilities or if you are not able to swim. If you are unsure if you can participate due to any of the aforementioned reasons, you are obliged to consult with us before the departure of your trip.
We do not supply guests with insurance. It is up to each individual guest to make sure you have adequate insurance coverage. We recommend checking with your home insurance, medical insurance or travel insurance company.
COMPLAINTS/DISPUTES
Any errors that occur during your stay must be reported immediately to the staff at The Kayak Trail. If you have not reported any complaints or errors during your tour and therefore neglected to give The Kayak Trail the opportunity to correct any mistakes, you can not demand any compensation afterwards. If you are not satisfied with your compensation, you have to notify The Kayak Trail in writing within 14 days from arriving home.
FORCE MAJEURE
Force majeure means unusual, unpredictable and unavoidable events that are outside of the organizers control, and that prevents the contract from being fulfilled. Circumstances that the organizer could not, within reasonable means, have foreseen and therefore could not have avoided or overcome. Including, but not restricted to, war, threat of war, riot, civilian insubordination or strike, authority measure, act of terrorism, nature- or industrial catastrophe, fire, severe weather conditions, flood, closed air ports, technical issues, maintenance issues or unforeseen changes made by airlines, such as time table changes, interruption in IT-infrastructure (including but not restricted to our web site). During these conditions the organizer is free from liability or other consequences.
SUBJECT TO CHANGE
The Kayak Trail reserves the right to change times, prices, payment, booking or discount conditions at will. Prices for coming seasons are always preliminary and are subject to change.
